Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program
Scholarships, Fully Funded Scholarships for Matric and O-Level Students in
Pakistan to Study at American High Schools in USA and Live with American Host
Families for a Year. The youth study and exchange program is funded by the US
government and is open to high school students in 39 countries.

High school students will be enrolled in a full academic in American schools in the US and will also be able to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to develop a full understanding of American culture by interacting with Americans. Since 2003, the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Study and Exchange Program (YES) has provided scholarships to 1,274 high school students from across Pakistan.

Benefits of the YES program for high school in the USA
The program is fully sponsored and the scholarship covers
all major costs, such as airfare.
- US Visa Fee US Boarding and Lodging (Residence and Meals) School tuition and stipend of $ 125 per month.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for the YES USA Youth Study and
Exchange Program.
- Pakistani citizen residing in Pakistan Students enrolled in grade 9 or 10 or "O" level students. (O '11th grade students are not eligible)
- Applicants must be 15-17 years old at the start of the program (Aug 15, 2022)
- Minimum 60% of grades in all core / core subjects (English, math, science) on the last test; Minimum GPA of 60% of grades from the last three years. (Students with a gap year or a repeat year are not eligible.)
- You can communicate in English. Minimum 60% of English test scores during the last three years (2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21) Not having traveled to the United States.
- Note: Minimum grades of 60% in all subjects of the exam that will be taken before departure to the USA (The annual exams that will be taken in 2021).
- Students should send in their last exam score sheets when they receive the score sheets.
Students who meet the following criteria in addition to
the above are likely to be shortlisted for the final round of selection.
Pass the entrance exam Know and practice Pakistani culture
and values, and be able to represent the same in US schools and communities
Demonstrate maturity, flexibility, adaptability, good character and scholastic
aptitude Willingness to participate in Host Family Daily Life Record of all
required vaccinations, as outlined in Final Student Application, prior to
arrival in the US Demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to promoting
cross-cultural understanding. The willingness and agreement to comply with the
'YES Student Rules' as outlined in the Final YES Application and all other
rules and policies during the program Meet the eligibility requirements for the

How to apply for the youth study and exchange program to
study in the USA.
STEP-1 Preliminary application:
Students who meet the Selection Criteria and agree with the
Student-Parent Agreement and the General Rules of the program can apply for the
scholarship. You can download the preliminary applications from www.yespk.org
and send the documents through the SIE courier office. It is
strongly recommended that you apply to women, students with physical
disabilities, and students from government and non-elite schools who meet the
criteria.
Students who are eligible according to the Selection
Criteria but their schools are not interested in submitting preliminary YES
applications can submit their applications independently.
STEP-2 Proof of income:
After the initial screening of the Preliminary Application,
the shortlisted applicants will be notified for the YES Orientation and the
Entry Test via letters and / or emails to their addresses mentioned in the
Preliminary Applications. (SIE is not responsible for incorrect / incomplete
address changes or changes).
STEP-3 Interview and group activity:
Students who pass the entrance test will be notified by
letters to appear at the interview and group activity. Students will need to
complete the Final YES Application (attached with letter) and appear at
interviews. (Students must present themselves the day of the interview with the
Completely completed Final Application YES along with the required documents).
STEP-4 Standardized English Language Test for
International Students:
Students shortlisted after interviews will be required to
take a standardized English language test for international students.
STEP-5 Final evaluation:
Final selection of students will be based on the entrance
test, interviews, and the final YES application carefully completed with all
required documents. Finalists will be notified by a letter and scholarship
acceptance form from the YES program office.
