ISLAMABAD: The government has selected three commercial banks, including the National Bank of Pakistan, Habib Bank Limited and Bank of Punjab, for the disbursement of a total loan amount of Rs 30 billion over a period of three months under the very publicized Kamyab Pakistan Program (KPP).

Out of a total of five offers received from the four commercial banks and one from the Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company (PMRC) to participate in the KPP tender, the Ministry of Finance selected three commercial banks, including NBP, HBL and BoP with a guarantee for the The 50 percent provision amounts to 15 billion rupees, including 9 billion rupees from the Bank of Punjab, three billion rupees from HBL and three billion rupees from the NBP.

Official sources said the two bids received from Askari Bank Limited and PMRC were rejected as the only bidding document was received unsealed and the monthly amount was below the Rs 1 billion monthly target. In the second rejected tender offer, the amount of one billion rupees was offered for three months, which is why it was also rejected by the government.
Kamyab Pakistan Program update
Faced with the demand for 100 percent guarantees requested by the banks, the Ministry of Finance has granted a 50 percent guarantee, so the remaining 50 percent of the amount disbursed must be arranged by the banks themselves, taking into account the risks involved.
The Ministry of Finance will provide a profit margin subsidy on the order of KIBOR plus nine percent in three main KPP schemes, including the Kamyab Karobar program, the Kamyab Kissan program, and low-cost housing schemes.
In case of non-compliance, the Ministry of Finance and the respective commercial banks will bear the cost on the basis of 50:50 percent, respectively. The banks wanted the government to pay the default amount of 51 percent, but the government did not accept it.
Kamyab Pakistan program online Registration
For three main schemes, such as Kamyab Karobar, Kamyab Kissan, and low-cost housing schemes, the margin subsidies paid to wholesale lenders, such as banks and DFIs, will be around a year like Karachi's interbank offering. Rates (KIBOR) plus an interest rate of eight to nine percent. So the total interest rate borne by the government will be 17 to 18 percent in all three KPP schemes.
The government will provide a 10 percent default loss to Executing Agencies (EAs) for Kamyab Pakistan microloan portfolios registered under the KPP. The program has been designed to ensure that there are minimum claims under the guarantee of the federal government.

Payment of the loan loss subsidy to executing agencies and wholesale lenders will be made up to 10 percent and 50 percent of the disbursed portfolio, respectively, under the program on a quarterly basis through the SBP. The Loan Application Form (LAF) to be used by all participants will contain the Kamyab Pakistan logo.
