Prime Minister Imran Khan launched a scholarship complaint portal on Thursday for students across the country. He said that the main objective of the portal is to establish an exclusive facility for students receiving scholarship education for their help and resolution of complaints. The Prime Minister said that the portal will also ensure transparency and meritocracy in the scholarship process. A panel of academics will monitor the portal and scholarships in new disciplines will be offered based on market demand, he said.
Addressing the launch ceremony of the Scholarship Complaint Portal in Islamabad, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that students were facing difficulties as scholarships were discontinued after a few years. Imran Khan said that through scholarships we can improve the educational system.
Imran Khan further mentioned that India's success is mainly due to its investment in higher education. A lot of money is spent on education in India. He said that it is our duty to make the youth aware of the principles of the state of Medina, we have to make our young generation aware of the high values of Islam. The Prime Minister stated that the purpose of scholarships is youth. Addressing the ceremony, the prime minister said that the students' complaints were ignored in the past and that they faced immense problems in obtaining their degrees.
Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said the government has invested heavily in the higher education sector and has increased the number of scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students. He said that the government has established 28 new universities and has allocated 123 billion rupees for higher education. Currently, 2.6 million students, including 72% women, benefit from these scholarships.
